from the Warlock PTR Notes for 2.1

Warlock and Hunter pets will now be automatically dismissed when you summon a mount. These pets will return on dismount. This does not affect pet happiness for Hunters.


I always kinda liked having El Gato running along with me while riding across the land...

Has more to do with flying mounts where a player would be 1000 feet in the air and their pet is still scurring along on the ground below them....aggroing everything still.

Was really more of a nuisance for warlocks since hunters can instantly resummon their pets for no mana.

But the kicker is that any buff the warlock is getting from a pet also disappears.... Of course when the pet comes back, so does the buff BUT..... if its something like the Imps stamina buff, that health is gone and has to be regenerated....

Because regaining health is fabulously difficult for warlocks. :p
