I always end up tossing points around randomly at whatever looks good and then respeccing to some predetermined set somewhere in the 50's...

I waited all the way to 59 before respeccing the warlock to Shadowmaster/Ruin.

edit: gotta update these sigs again... Hunter=35...Mage=19

When i leveled my first mage I was all about cold. Controlling a fight was my primary focus. Then i grouped with a fire mage. I couldn't believe the amount of damage that he was doing. With this build i tried to focus on Makeing sure that i had every Fire spell available and tried to enhance them. I also still believe in control. so thats why i made sure i went deeper into the cold tree.

The only thing that i am not sure about is sacrificeing Ice sheild for Blast wave. I have never had that spell so im not sure of the power of blast wave. Now Ice shield was a HUGE help. Well see i guess.

I wish I could seriously play a squishy.

Skillet can tell us all about his switch from Fire to Ice and back to Fire again with Cyclonus....

I wish I could seriously play a squishy.

After starting with a rogue, I honestly enjoyed my switch over into the land of squishies. It took a lot to get used to when I first started the warlock but I quickly figured out how much nicer it was to blow crap up from a distance instead of standing face to face with it and getting beat on.

Squishys are fun to play y ou just need to know you can't get near a mob. Its why i really couldn't play a priest too well. I had no way to keep the mob away from me so i could blast it all to hell.

I hate that though.. then I feel all disconnected from the fight. I love being right in the middle of the group beating the shit outta things..

I also like Mosh-pits.

Thats what i love about the mage. I am in the middle of the fight. I make sure the 5 guys you arn't focused on are focused on me. There is nothing like killing 8 mobs at once solo.

I tried a priest. Couldnt do it.

If the mage is 1/2 the fun the warlock was and is..... Its gonna be a blast too. I find the hunter is a good mix between the two. You aren't necessarily a squishy, but you are standing back from the fight letting the pet take the hits while you do the damage.

But its all personal opinion. Play what you like. But, of course, if I actaully learned how to play any of them, it probably would be even more fun.

I liked the hunter, i found them versital in any situation, especially after the talent review. It made the beastmaster a viable option in a group.

My hunter is put away for now, she was ok but I rather enjoyed the Warlock and I'm having tons of fun with the mage (which is partially due to the fact that I now have people my age to group with in the guild again!)

For instance running I enjoyed the Frost side. You get nice CC and you live longer :) But as you guys have probably guessed, I like to pvp from time to time.

Being a squishy, you don't get much time to cast, instant dps is key. Ice shield is really nice, but I found that the higher dps from fire seems to fit me better for pvp. PoM(Presence of Mind)->Pyro, FireBlast, CoC, Blastwave, and AE give a lot of insticast dps. Not many ppl live through those. My blastwave crits in the upper 800s as well it slows their run speed, allowing a kite effect.

For instances when AoE is required this is the process I'll use:
Flamestrike, PoM->Flamestrike, CoC, Blastwave, AE, AE, FrostNova (gives you time to get away, be healed, and cast another flamestrike)
I save FrostNova until I'm low on health or if the healer grabs aggro to give us time to back away and let the tank catch up.

A Frost/Fire build sounds like it will be a nice pve/pvp build, but I think I'm gona stick with Arcane/Fire....I do love a instiCast Pyro.
