It is true.....

Cloth + High Damage = Death.

I proved that repeatedly last nite....

Then how do you explain all the deaths from wearing leather? :)

Stoke
04-18-2006, 05:14 AM
Substitute the word leather for cloth. Same result.

For if/when your hunter is raid level...

Then how do you explain all the deaths from wearing mail? :)

Lack of game playing skills.

I forgot where my Feign Death button is.

Fixed. :)

Not that I would ever be a bitch hunter and FD to let my group die while I lived. No....never... :worry:

I never realized how much of a retard I am until I started playing a hunter. I mean, it's not that hard to get a mob into a freezing trap, yet somehow 4 times out of 5 I screw it up. Hopefully I get the hang of it before I hit any important instances (level 29 now).

My experiences so far:

The rogue was difficult to bring up just because I was learning how to play the game itself and didnt properly understand the correlation between armor/talent points/weapons/etc. and how they helped or hurt you. Not that I totally understand now either but..... If I did another one, I'm sure it would be a lot easier.

The warlock was and is extremely fun to play. Not much trouble out in the PVE world with it. It was a 180 degree turn from the rogue so I had to learn the concept of mana management and how to stand back far enough to hit stuff without getting hit back. Never got the hang of chain fearing one mob while killing a second one though. Still have to learn how to properly use the felhunter. Biggest concern is not doing too much damage too fast.

The hunter (at least thru level 30) has to be absolute easy mode in PVE. Sure occasionally a pull goes wrong but with a good pet and a trap... you never hardly get hit and you just mow thru stuff.... Send the pet in and plink away with the arrows.

Now...in group play and in instances.... I'm a total n00b with any of them.

I find there are classes that suck absolute balls to play solo (priest, paladin, warlock), but when you get in groups where you can do all sorts of fun things because you're not being pounded on. Like on my paladin I LOVE tanking because it's a total bitch to do, which is a marked contrast from everything else for paladins which is really, really fucking boring.

The warlock is kind of fun to solo with, but when you're in a group tossing curses and pulling off tricks with your pets like seduce/spell-lock (which you should really learn to use BEFORE you hit 60 :p), you seem like a God. The number of groups Cynia has come out of from various instances where people whisper me "I didn't know warlocks could do that..." is kinda funny.

But yes, Hunter = EZ mode...especially NE hunters. If you aggro too many mobs you just kill one...run a bit away...FD and then shadowmeld (which you can do straight from FD), you then wait for the cooldown to wear off and do it again. Just as a tip to all budding hunters: Your FD resists is like a spell...4% chance PER MOB. That means more mobs = more chance of resist.

My experiences were:

Paladin - SUCKED MY NUTSAC to level, but I didn't know any damn better since this was my first character so I just thought it was normal. I made a fucking ass ton of stupid rookie mistakes during the leveling/grind process which made it take forever to get him to 60. Had this not been my first character there would be no way I would have a pally at all EVER!!

Rogue - UBER FUN, leveling was a bitch but only because I couldn't find enough quests to do. I was routinely doing quests 5+ levels higher then my character and soon out quested him. I still have an extraordinary amount of fun with the rogue both in instances and in PVP. Rogue is probably the best fit class for me in this game.

Warrior - Only reason this guy even exists is because I wanted a kitty mount, but up through level 45 I have completely enjoyed this class. I love being able to take a hit unlike my rogue. I also enjoy tanking and may respec to prot solely for tanking with him.

Overall I think the rogue fits me best but the warrior is a close second at this point; the pally was a huge mistake but oh well he is good for those runs that no other pally wants to go on.

The only problem with warriors is that the warrior = the gear...especially when you're going warrior on warrior. This really isn't a problem at the lower levels, because it's who can get the best stuff out of instances and such. At 60, it's a massive issue because if you're not wearing MC epics, you're at a major disadvantage.

In a warrior vs. warrior battle, you'll be facing someone who has more armor, more stamina and can hit harder than you. Barring insane luck, you lose. I don't know if there's another class in the game where that disparity is so obvious.

Nizuttz

Yeah thats why I don't know that I will be PvPing with the warrior.

At this point I have no intentions of doing anything with the hunter. He is just there for fun when we aren't doing anything else. We have enough hunters that are/will be WAAAAAY more competent anyway. Same with the rogue. Too many of those around too. Now, as long as we dont have a warlock explosion like we did with rogues, I'll be good.

As far as my baby Paladin? He aint going much of nowhere. I will say that it was an absolute blast the other night running around Elwynn Forest in that 5 man group. I think it was me, Skillet, Fate, Vicious and Verra - Paladin, Warrior, Mage, and 2 Druids. We were having tons of fun running around mowing down everything in sight and ninja mining.

No reason to play another class Stike. Warlocks are pretty damn nice atm, and they are essential for end game raiding as I found out last night. MC is a banish fest heh. I think you need at least 3 warlocks on a raid if not 5.

Heck, 2 warlocks in UBRS = easy Drakk fight. Fear both adds, burn down the general, then it's easy street.

Having had a guard resist 10 out of 12 casts, I'm always happy when there's a hunter to kite Drakk.
