The rumor has it this will take place sometime around 1pm EST on Sunday 2/12/06. This is PvP and I don't want to go by myself. The more 60 we have on the better, form raid group, and stick together.

I'm not sure exactly what events take place, but I hear it's huge and a world event that only happens once.

Ready for the servers to crash from all the people being in the same place.... no (hopefully Blizzard has made allowances for this....)

I'm going to make a big post about this in a day or two.

It'll be mid-afternoon on Sunday for the sake of my PST guildmates who are lazy.

Hearing people talk about what will happen Sunday, there are a lot of misconceptions. This isn't something you "watch." It's something you participate in. It's not a cutscene. And it's not at the gates. Nothing happens at the gates when I ring the gong. They open and some big Anubisaths come out... but those very same Anubisaths continue to respawn for the entirety of the 10-hour war. Nothing special happens at the gates until the very end.

The real action is elsewhere. Large bosses and zerg guards will spawn at the three huge hives in Silithus, Cenarion Hold will come under attack, the silithid hives in Un'goro, Tanaris, Shimmering Flats, Feralas, and even South Barrens (!) will give rise to bosses and guardian minions. Resonating crystals, guarded by bosses, and spawning elites, will appear inside places like Gadgetzan, Feathermoon, and Mojache.

That's the war. If you want to have the biggest possible role in it, form or join a raid group and camp one of those spots as the gong in rung. Blizzard designed the event to spread players out so the server doesn't crash, so the gong is absolutely not the focal point of all the action. We can all be idiots and gather at the gong anyway, and then our server will crash a few times until the war begins and people spread out once they realize nothing is happening at the gates. Let's not be idiots.

I have come to the conclusion and also heard a rumor that the Elitists Jerks (who have the sceptor to bang the gong) are going to lie about when they will hit the gong for the sake of the server. Besides the event is 10 hours long from what i hear and its kinda the same thing over and over during that time frame, nothing to miss. *shrugs*

Ya I see the servers going down over and over :lol:. You know they won't prepare for it.

Well I think if we do anything we should have a planned meeting point to farm the bosses. Somewhere other that silithus.
