View Full Version : two nice buffs for warlocks coming in the next content patch

Well, one of them isn't specifically for warlocks, but it does help. First buff: they are changing Conflagrate, the Destruction tree's top-tier spell, to instant-cast and upping it's damage and mana cost. This is a great change, because right now Conflagrate is useless. I currently have more than 30 points in the Destruction tree but Conflagrate is so useless that I didn't spend the 1 point it would take me to get it.

Second buff is for all debuffs - they are changing the debuff limit from 8 to 16. So us locks should be able to drop some more debuffs on bosses. As it is, I don't drop many DOTs on bosses because they get bumped off by crap like Deep Wounds, or because I'm worried they will bump off something else, like SW: Pain.

So good news for locks next patch!

Huh? I thought the debuffs were there, you just couldnt see them. A graphical limitation i thought...?

Nope, it's an 8 debuff limit right now. You can still see them behind the character icon but those are part of the 8. Drop a debuff on someone who already has 8 on them and you bump one off the list.

Nice, but I an armor upgrade would be nicer :)

Do you spam searing pain then? Doesn't that pull aggro?

Great news on the debuff limit, but it would be nice if they'd push it to something effectively unlimited.

Yeah I do spam searing pain a lot. It can pull aggro but the bigger the group, the less likely that is to happen, I find.

It's nice because with the added critical hit chances my searing pains often hit for 400-500 damage, as much as a shadow bolt but with less time/mana cost.

I like the Destruction tree the most because it requires the least thought. ;)
