Instead of deleting the files, just in case punkbuster or a patch stupidly looks for them... you can do this.
Turn off those annoying unskippable intro movies:
1. Open \mods\bf2\init.con
2. place a REM in front of the bf2Engine.playMovie commands
Just another helpful hint from the man with no life!

Never friggin mind... seems that THIS blocks you from playing on official servers. Funny how DELETING files is OK but not just disabling the movie huh???
Gryph, you can delete this thread if you want, or it could become yet another post wh0ring opportunity for those of us that want to make fun of me :)

I think I shall leave it for others to make fun of you :D
I didn't delete the files myself so that I could restore them if needed, I just changed them to movie.bik.old, I left the menu movies alone.

Wh0r3d !
Even easier than renaming the movie files (which I did in demo) -- you can just rename the whole Movies directory (ie: Movies.bak) and you're set. Never caused an issue for me once and I've had it as such since retail release.
