So after being bitten, chewed up and spit out by the lag monster last night (towards the end on that CCC server, I was pretty much unable to do anything that didn't involve spraying wildly and hoping I'd hit something) I did some reading this morning.

Apparently the lag is mostly on the ranked servers. There are a number of theories, the biggest one is that wherever they store the stats isn't working quite right and thats causing the servers that are trying to report the stats to them to lag...alot. We as players can't do much about this but play on unranked servers for now.

The other possible problem is Punkbuster not auto updating correctly. This we can try to fix ourselves. If you go here: http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=updatepb.php and follow the directions, you can manually update PB. PB released and update yesterday, so the popular theory is that their auto update servers can't handle the rabid BF2 fans who all need this update. I'll try this tonight and report back on whether or not it helps.
