Except that that is fairly picturesque, like a bayou. Think less picturesque, toss in a silo and a waterlogged corn field and pig farm, crappy, reedy lakes that reek of decaying vegetation and swarm with algae (and will stain your clothes green, and are so full of pesticides you can't eat the fish). And make it be almost perfectly flat, but kind of in a natural depression elevation-wise, so that clouds tend to stick around a lot longer, ensuring plenty of rain. That's where I live.
