Rumor has it that he checked himself into a mental insitution down there but in an interview with Time he basically said he wanted to cut everyone and everything off (probably from the pressure for his 3rd season)

As everyone else knows to get help for his bad habits before everyone found out and then will later in time go on a show and let it all out why he really went :).
