There's a dude in an instance that can afflict you with an effect called "Living Bomb", which causes you to explode after a time. The Warlock's pet got hit with this while they were down in the instance, but the warlock dismissed the pet before it "went off". Warlock pets keep effects when unsummoned, so when he summoned his pet back in the auction house, it was still afflicted with Living Bomb.
