Remember the game called PlanetSide? It's a game about 3 empires fighting for world domination. Lol sorry about that..

Anyway next week will be so great! Here is some stuff that will be added this week, Get ready! This goes live monday!

Higher battlerank: Max BR is now 23

Certification Changes:
In light of the higher possible battle rank, we wanted to alter some other certifications for better character development.

Recertification
To facilitate existing characters restructuring their character build with these changes and to prepare for their continued advancement, we will be clearing everyone’s certifications with this update.

More 1 cert options:
In order to facilitate easier travel, especially while wearing Reinforced Exo-Suit (aka. Rexo) we are making the ATV and Harasser certifications 1 point.
ATV from 2 to 1 cert point.
Harasser from 2 to 1 cert point.
Adjusting Up Combo Certs:
In an effort to control “one man army” character builds, who can do it all, from happening with the new certification alignment, we are bumping up Uni-Max, BFR and Air Cav.
BFR will move from 3 to 4 cert points.
Uni-MAX combo cert moves from 5 to 6 cert points.
Air Cavalry combo cert moves from 4 to 5 cert points.
Questions and Answers:

Q: Will there be additional implants or armor changes available at the new certification levels (21-23)
A: No, the BR change is being made to broaden character certification development possibilities.

Q: Will existing characters who have been BR 20 for some time now automatically make BR 23 when the update goes through from old points they had accumulated?
A: Everyone at BR 20 will start at BR 20 and 1 BEP, with a full bar to fill to obtain BR 21.

Q: How much BEP is required to advance through these new Battle Ranks?
A: Going from BR 20 to 21 is not much more than going from 19 to 20, and so on. Given that the amount of battle experience you gain per kill never goes up in PlanetSide, we didn’t want to make these new ranks extremely large and overly time consuming to obtain.

Also some new merrits. Merrits will be launched in the week of the 23th

In addition to the previously announced Merit Commendations, we have added more to the initial release:
Tank Buster: Destroy X number of Tanks (including the Lightning).
Transport Blockade: Destroy X number of Transport vehicles: Sunderer, Galaxy, Deliverers, Deli variants.
Supply Blockade: Destroy X number of AMS, ANTs and Lodestars.
MAX Buster: Destroy X number of MAXes.
Defender of the Skies: Destroy X number of enemies with a Skyguard or AA MAX.
Grenadier: Kills X number of enemies with a Thumper or handheld grenade.
Phalanx: Kills X number of enemies with a Phalanx turret.
Saboteur: Kill X number of enemies with boomers.
Scavenger: Kill X number of enemies while using enemy weapons.
Bombardier: Score X Kills with the Liberator Bombardier.
Light Infantry: Qualify for the First Standard Assault and Medium Assault commendation levels.
Heavy Infantry: Qualify for the First Heavy Assault, Anti Vehicular, Sniper and Special Assault commendation levels.
Infantry Specialist Track: Qualify for the complete set of Infantry commendations (progressing through three levels of commendations for each set).

Just thought about a new twist... Planet Craft. Picture this.......
Levo running around in Night elf form with a lasher in his hands and instead of a chain blade I will duel weild 2 big ass chain saws for the real close up experience. There will still be the hunter class. Instead of a animal pet us hunters will have walking bots that follow us and we can use them as platforms to launch different ordanance. Mine will be loaded for air to air and Anti Armor projectiles. Of course the Tauren Republic will use their bots to push around thier unending supply of chain gun ammo.
Last but not least..The New Orc Conglomerate will use their bots to run others over, due to the shear weight. Also the New Orc's will have an option to loading their bots with a version of the infamous jackhammer. The New Orc bot will hold 6 of these new versions of the jackhammer with an option of a fire all weapons. This option will have a slight cool down of 3 seconds. This multi fire is known to stop 3 Allied Battlefield Chicken robots in their tracks. Any thing in the blast radius of 300m will be dead. Even the infamous trees will fall in the blast.

Hi,

I Dident want 2 make a new thread for this but it's quiet funny to hear. A legendairy bug has been found in PlanetSide. If you use this bug, you can enter the enemy sanctuary's. Markov is SancHopper free but if you look at esmerald and werner you see hotspots on sanctuary's. TR invade NC, NC invade VS, etc etc. You cannot hack/attack on the sanctuary's but you can run them over. CSR's broadcast serveral messages a day telling that ppl who attack enemies in there sancuary's will be banned.

Want to know how it's done? It's really clever.

You need: - VS Hacker + Air support
- TR Air Support + Vehicle cert

Ok, the VS guy hacks the TR lodestar when the TR vehicle is out. Then when the hack is almost complete, you enter the lodestar with your TR Tank. After a few sec the lodestar is hacked and voila, You have a VS lodestar with a TR tank in it. The TR guy can go true the sanctuary warpgate as a lodestar cargo :)

Path will come out monday or so, to stop this madness

It sounds weird but I think PlanetSide is more balanced then it was ever before. The field battles are awesome, alot players online, like it used to be. We fight on the same continent for days (Vanu always wins at the end) The merrits are also live now, Every soldier has his own style now and can evolve himself, because of the merrits.

All the good things happend after stang went 2 wow, is there a connection? :p

I just got past the beach part with the sand crabs. Definitly more variety than Doom 3.

My only comment about the merits is they are very much in the traditions of the MMO grind. They're re-evaluating them to make them less "OMG...I still need to kill 2000 people to get my sniper merit" and more "Well, that was a challenge but certainly manageable".

For those WoW freaks out there...they're toning them down from level 65 elites to more like level 50...which is good news for those of you at level 48. :P

They're also shuffling the lattice about (to make it more likely to produce more than boring three-ways) and including a new scripting engine that will allow them to attach certain events to the game. For instance, say the TR capture both of the NC home continents, the TR could pull NC weapons (not vehicles I don't think...). Or if you capture the Battle Islands, everyone on that empire gets +10 health. This would make it a much more strategic game as there'd be actual reasons to hit one target over another. Oooooo, aaaaaaah.

Also going unmentioned is the fix for the broken squad XP system and a "forced bind" command for a SL/PL. The XP system is being altered so that you cannot make more XP solo (current flaw) and the "forced bind" allows the SL/PL to go into a base and bind everyone in that squad to that base (obviously a friendly base) and, as another option, recall everyone in the squad to that base once every set amount of time (following the normal 10-20-30 second delay for recalls and logouts now).

So Sam is finally getting underway and it at least appears he has some ideas for addressing PS's shortcomings. All of these changes, and deep in the background they're working on new base layouts......

To say PS is dead is a bold, flat-out lie. :P

The pop locks are because they lowered the pop cap on continents from 166 per empire to 133 per empire :)

Actually Gryph, that was done because there was always a pop-lock, about 20-30 people running around in the caves and about 60 people per empire who were just screwed on a variety of continents.

Erego, they lowered it to provide more fights for people to join in on, and the game is slightly less bizarre since they did that (with the random lag and such)...so all in all a good change.

Europe omg are you mad? EUROPE SUCKS STAY IN THE USA! THEY ROCK! I wish I lived where you guys live. But I ok.. eh.. I don't know what kind of guy you are. Do you want to see some history and culture? Or do you want to smoke drugs all day? (Soft drugs are legal here, personally I'm against drugs :) ) Or eh do you want to see big cities or small villages. Europe has many things, Just don't go to germany :)

Let's see - Normandy is a given. You Have LOTS of important WWII landmarks in France, and Berlin is always a good place for some culture and history, Poland and Austria have concentration camps you can visit, if you're wanting to get a comlete view of the holocaust, (it DID happen..) There are a ton of places in Europe to see, especially if you want to explore WWII landmarks. Even Amsterdam, and Norway were touched by the war.. Hell, the Aleutian Islands even have some sites, (I know it's not Europe, but still.) Cuz the Japs invaded Alaska like idiots, and the American Marines and Army fought their own war there....

Amsterdam is fine.. but all the big cities here are full with junks etc.. They ruin the perfect picture of Amsterdam. If you want to see some WWII stuff then Hat is right, Germany, France and well Amsterdam has the famous Anne Frank :)

Italy is also great, I rather spend my time in Italty then in France. But I suggest you surf a bit on the net to find out wich country suits you the best.
