I've been doin my homework and i have come to the conclusion that things will really start to get interesting after ppl make it to BR6. This is where you will have enough BEPs to actually get some cool additions to your character. Roughly one upgade in each catagory and one implant. Based on info drawn from this chart:

@ BR6 by these calculations you will have around 7 points to spend on pimpin yourself out. You can actually get Certs to be able to fly and drive @BR4 but without much to make yourself "well rounded"

A begining well rounded pilot can get medium assault, agile armor, skeeter, repair and regeneration. (at least this is how i would likely build a pilot.)

Or tank guy could get by with standard assault. Get agile/reinforced armor. Lightning then Mag-Rider. plus an implant

I kinda wanna run up the kill count before starting to get into the vehicles so i'll prolly B-line for the MAX asap. Which it would seem you can get to by BR4 and dont really need much more. 'cept what do you do if your not in a MAX suit? All you have to fall back on is standard assault and agile armor.

The Problem with that deal, is a couple things: We don't know how accurate that is as far as certs go, and how the Battle Ranks will work. We also don't know how often, or what criteriea there will be for gaining a higher rank. But it is kind of fun to move yourself into higher Battle Ranks, and see where we would want to spend our cert points, and implant slots. Personally, as a pilot I would want Advanced Targeting and Darkvision.

Well i suspect that the first couple of BRs will be easier to get to than ones later. I'm trying to figure out the soonest posible time in which i'll feel comfortable in a well rounded roll. You gotta get somethings earlier, your survival depends on it. But you'll still be lacking in other really important areas. Reguardless of BR, you can still use the point system to somewhat calculate what you can afford. I feel like this initial tention of being spawn fodder. That won't go away til i can get at least a few Certs. I know the calculations aren't perfect. But i do know it's gonna take like right around 7 or so points to feel that tension lifted.

I wish they'd just get on with it already...No wait... i take that back. I don't want them to release to early either.

It's an interesting balance, weighing against the community, who wants to play NOW, and without bugs, and being the dev and having to deal with the bugs, trying to find the best time to go gold...

BUt It'll be nice to know that on launch day, everyone will be on the same level, but with different certs. I'll have a cople characters, I think, but one hardcore Pilot; anything, anytime, anywhere.

I just want to get in on the Beta.
