As the evaluation of BFR’s goes on, we will be making further adjustments to their properties and acquisition.

We will be reducing all BFRs’ shield regeneration, but increasing its total absorption. This has the net effect of reducing the BFRs staying power under constant fire, without significantly changing the time to beat the BFRs shields from full up to down. It also moderately increases the time to regenerate shields, forcing the BFR to take longer breaks before moving back to the forefront.

Additionally, we will be slightly reducing the BFR chassis absorption value vs. small arms fire (i.e. medium assault, heavy assault, sniping, MAX AI weaponry, Standard Assault, 12mm vehicle weapons).

BFR Certification will also change. There will now be three certifications related to BFR’s. The Basic BFR certification will still be available for 3 points after following the Armored Assault cert tree. However, this certification will only allow access to the BFR AV weapons for either the pilot or the gunner pod and the NTU and Armor Siphons. BFR AI Gunnery (which gives the use of both pilot and gunner AI weapons) and BFR AA Gunnery (pilot only) will each be separate certifications, costing 1 point each.

I think that will help reduce the over population of BFR's.

Actually, I'd like to have it up tomorrow morning for play over the weekend. Yes, certifications will be wiped to allow you to set up your load out.

You will still be able to mix things up, if you have the certifications for it. For example, you have the BFR cert and the AI Gunnery cert, but not AA. You can load out the AV, AI, NTU siphon and Armor siphon, but you won't have the AA weapons available to purchase. If you try and have someone else who does have the AA cert buy it for you and you get into it, you won't be able to fire that weapon that you aren't certed for.

They should have put more thought into these before release I mean there was no rush. We wouldnt see so many if they made the cave caps way harder and the certs, like now, more in value.

I have the feeling that these changes were under consideration long before they went live but it wasn't until now that they were found to be needed. Personally I thing the different weapons should have similar costs to the MAX's. That way it would deter more people from having them and put them back into their boots to play as grunts again.
