Actually a full blown Volcano eruption outdoes a Hurricane in my book. Maybe because you can see it from Ohio when the sun is setting and the dust particles make a ring around the planet in athmosphere.

Or maybe the fact that the Lava is so hot that pretty much anything it touches is incinerated? Granted, 4 Hurricanes in 1 year is nothing to sneeze at, but Volcanoes don't erupt that often.

Uh-Oh it just erupted again and is excepted to erupt later today.

Yes it had a little episode yesterday, Friday, and then today it burped but nothing big. They say they think it will blow a little bigger in the next few days or even in the next 24 hrs. They say there is magma down there slowly pushing its way up. They cleared the observatory today cuz they believe that when it does go it will be in that radius so all the people were told to leave an go to a further away observatory.

You wouldn't feel it Welts your in Canada, its an eruption not an earthquake :). We live 3 hrs from it and cannot see anything. The ash didn't go far enough for anyone to see. I am watching their webcam all the time. I love volcanoes and if they'd let me I'd probably be up there trying to get as close as I could :). Be cool to see if lava did come up what it would do or go. I also want to hear what it sounds like.

My volcano can whoop your hurricanes ass in one shot BIATCH! My distruction does the damage of all your hurricanes in one shot. When I explode you can't do much to recover as you can in a hurricane. So sit down or Ill blow your ass up . In the 1840's or even before that Mt. St. Helens was in a continues eruption so I beat you :p.

Thats based on personal opinion regarding the destructive power of nature.

Think of this, Yellow Stone National Park is one of the largest volcanos in the world with the capability to destroy life in half of the continental United States, leave a layer of ash around the world and darken the skies for hundreds of years as the ash floats. Now think of the hurricans and the tornatic events they cause, floods, errossion, and wind damage. Granted hurricans happen every year while the erruption of a Mega-Volcano only happens once every 40-thousands of years or so. In fact geologists are predicting Yellow Stone to erupt some time in the next hundred years or so.

Personal? Hello look at it and compare them

I thought they said Yellowstone could erupt form anywhere in the next 100 years or 1 million years...Though Im sure humanity will allready be living else where.

I read a news story the other week where they said they are pretty sure it will be with in the next hundred or so years. Also, at the rate man is going with space technology, we will not have a self sustaining colony on the Moon or another planet in the next hundred years.

The Government just couldn't leave NASA's budget alone for the past decade, decreasing it every year until the last Shuttle disaster in which President Bush made Congress give them more money to fix the very things Congress forced them to neglect. NASA had hoped to have a manned Lunar base, the ISS completed, and construction started on a Manned ship for Mars Exploration by now. That was their plan in the 1980's.

I dont mean to alarm you or anything but just about the entire state of Wyoming has increased by about 7 feet in the past 100 years. Some beleive that this is a "super" volcano that will wipe out humanity and is excpeted to erupt any minute to 10,000 years :D

KWood

Saweet, Wyoming has always been a fringe state.

Yeah I saw a discovery show about that, it includes yellowstone and that it is overdue for eruption by about 40,000 years.
