Something I just posted on the PS forums:
What an awesome page. I actually had thought about doing the same thing myself, except I was going to look at people manually and just take a sample...glad someone found this way to do it!
Something I found interesting: the total population of the game is quite high! In fact, far from this game being a failure I would not be at all surprised if SOE is viewing this game as quite the success! Looking at the BR10+ stats I see a total of 21005 people who belong in outfits and play the game. I'm guessing this tracker counts duplicate characters as seperate people, but I'm also going to go out on a limb and hypothesize that most people's duplicates are not above BR10. Being conservative then, let's say we have 15000 individual players in outfits. Let's remain conservative and assume that about 3/4 of all players are in outfits. That brings us back up to about 20000 players.
20000 players multiplied by $13 gives us $260000 per MONTH. That's $3.1 million per year! Assuming that the game currently fields about 1/2 as many players as it did on launch (that seems about right to me from the server population screens), the game has sold about 40000 copies. At $50 per copy, that's another $2 million in revenue!
Naturally this is full of assumptions...but from this stats page I would guess that SOE is doing quite well from this game right now...
So can we get some more people on the damn dev team?!?! :D
